Thats my problem, got any idea of where i could get a map of the area with land owners, private land, I just dont want to get into trouble down there. I was also wondering if anybody knows where the animals hang out and how to hunt them? I'm not asking for any honey holes or anything.

The forest service has maps of the area and they should show all public and private lands. I would think you could go online and order whatever you need.

Here is my Fishlake bull. It was a fun hunt. This was a late hunt bull. seen a couple bigger ones. At least you get to hunt them before they get all busted up. Finding a good non busted up bull was the fun part .During the late hunt it seamed like 50% of the bulls we seen were busted. Hope to go back someday.

Great hunt. I had it in 2009. This is the 3rd biggest bull I had a shot at. Missed the other 2.

Drew the expo tag last year. We hunted hard, but really struggled to find elk, let alone bulls. Really strange year last year. I have seen some real monsters in the past, so it was frustrating. I still believe that there are good bulls down there, I think/hope that last year was a fluke. I passed a 320 class opening morning at first light and regretted it. To make things worse, we spotted a 360 class bull second to the last day of the hunt not 5 minutes after I shot this bull. With how hard the going had been, and the fact I didn't want to go home empty, I just couldn't let him go. Such is hunting.

Few bulls we saw out scouting. You can always spot bulls up on Mt terrel during the summer. Most won't be there once the rut starts. The bull I shot summered up there, but I shot him about six miles southeast (as the crow flies) from there.

good luck to ya. No matter what, it is just fun to be chasing 'em.

carbonnation is right that last year was a strange year. I had the late Fishlake expo tag the year before and seen a ton of 280-310ish bulls that I figured would be 310-330 last fall. We seen very few bulls during the hunt but we only had the opening weekend to hunt. I seen some smokers during my late hunt the year before but was unable to locate them for last years hunt. I know there are some more great bulls on the unit and I expect to see a good number of big bulls come off this season. I think anyone who has a tag this year will be pleasantly surprised. Don't get me wrong, it can still be a tough hunt with the varied habitat that they can get into, but I think there will be some good bulls taken..
I love that bull that Craig took on the late hunt in 09..very pretty bull.

Antlerrick, your wife's bull looks like it was killed next to Frying Pan? I think I have seen that pic in Bowery.
Those are all incredible bulls! I bet you enjoy looking at them on your wall everyday.

Dr Hunter. We were near Frying Pan but further south. And yes the picture is in Bowery Haven. The owner of Bowery, Jeff, and another good friend, JD Nielson, owner of Sevier Valley Outdoors, hiked up that night we shot it and they helped us pack the bull out that night. They saved our butts!
The only thing he asked for was if he could get a photo to hang in the restaurant. It is awesome when you have friends like that!

You can always tell who your good friends are when an elk is on the ground and needing to be packed out. Jeff is a good guy, and an excellent cook!

Oh that is Seven Mile just north of the wooden bridge. Picture was taken a week from last monday.

It will be freakin July before we can get over the top!
I can remember having big drifts on top for the 4th of July but I think this year is going to be worse unless things heat up quickly.

Rick I have a family reunion up there on july 4 th weekend for the wifes side of the family . I sure hope I can get up there ? If they we let me I will take a tractor up.
I am going to try again the weekend of the 18th. I am sure we can get up there by then.
