I know of two fellas from California who killed two great bulls on the San Juan unit with their Elk Tags (spike Tags). Claimed they didn't know the rules, and walked away with a 360 bull and a 330 bull. I know they won't admit it but they have been doing it for a few years down there. Got stuck with a fine and they still have there hunting privileges . I guess I will be hunting big bulls again this year along with some others. I think it happens and people get away with it. I ran into a guy on the Nebo 6 years ago who knocked down a mature bull with his spike tag.
