I have an archery deer tag for Arizona and am looking for any info anyone has on either of these areas. I would be hunting the last two weeks in December. I hunted southern Arizona in January but did not connect and would like to try it again but hopefully a little further north to save some drive time. I am not looking for anyone's honey holes, just some areas that I could start researching closer. Thanks for your help.

My uncle moved out to Dolan Springs (in and around 15A and B)....he has seen (2) smokers in these units, but it seems the #'s are down in comparison to top mule deer areas of the west. He is a quail hunter so you can imagine the amount of walking he does.....I really can't point you in any direction until I get out there in early Feb for some bird hunting......but I have a general question!?!?! Is there an unlimited amount of bow tags for the late season in the Unit 15 areas? There doesn't seem to be a quota and I have a hard time believing any NR hunter can just go get a tag!! Is this the case though???
Thanks
Chris

there is no limit to tags. resident or nonres. 15a & b have just as good deer as 10 with out the quantity of hunters. the 15s r probably harder to hunt between access and being mentaly draining. you can go a long time without seeing a big one but they are there. somewhere.

crcountry,
Yes you can buy an OTC arhchery deer tag in AZ. Obviously, OTC means unlimited. Most of the entire southern half of the state is open the last two weeks of December and all of January.

It's Bush's fault!!!

Having lived in Kingman for about 34 years, I'll give you this advice.

The average muzzleloader hunt success in these units is between 15-25%, so guess what the archery success is? Yep, lower.

Not a lot of deer out there, and the terrain in most places (Cerbats and Musics) is really not conducive for bowhunting.

If you must hunt here, I suggest the Peacock Mtns (South end) or give the Silver Springs area in Unit 18A a try.

Locals chase bucks there all the time.

Good luck!
