Clynt,

I've spent some time up there during the late hunt. I'll send you a PM.

I have had that tag twice. The entire area has the ability to produce great bucks, and you will see a lot. Union Pass can have good deer, if there is snow. Horse Creek has big country and they come down from the Forest Service. They may cross the East Fork from the Reservation and be in the hay fields at any time, or they can come down the fingers from the draws to the North of the Wiggins Fork. A half mile from the roads will eliminate most hunters. The Lower, Middle, and Upper Meadows areas are great for walk ins or horseback hunts, and some of those draws hold lots of deer. It just gets better as the days get close to the end of the season. Glass off the highway out of town towards the Badlands, and over and behind the sheep herds. You will see bucks up on the open ridges, behind the alfalfa fields. Everyone in Dubois is friendly and willing to chat about deer hunting. Check in with the taxidermists and they will let you know where there latest ones were taken. Good luck on a great tag.

I agree with with these guys that a good buck could be anywhere on the unit, I had the tag a few years ago and killed a 204 non typical with 19" G-2's but he was by far tha best buck I saw. if I ever draw again I'll look for something 170+ and that's about what the goal is there I think. weather will be a player and I've heard the wolves are doing some damage but I'll bet you have a heck of a hunt in the most beutiful area in the world in my opinion. good luck
