Give me a call 435-459-1532. I had the tag last year if you want to pick my brain. Pete, c3 on here had the tag last year too and could be a huge help to you. Good luck, it is a ton of fun and a ton of work.

So let me get this straight, you have applied for the San Juan your whole life, and you know nothing about it??? One would think you might have at least read the hundreds of threads on this sight over the last 10 years about the San Juan.....or maybe make oh, I don't know a scouting trip or two in years past to the unit you may someday draw out for.....

If I remember right a few years ago, a guy on here named BlackPredator wrote a "book" on a thread, and gave out some really good info, starting at the rock pile, watching for people looking through bino's and spotting scopes, etc....that's a good place to start. Some where offended by it, but I thought it was very entertaining.

this post may sound a little snotty, but it's mostly just cause I'm jealous. The San Juan topic has been beat to death on this sight, search the past three year threads alone and you will find tons of info to reduce your stress.

good luck
TJ

Sorry if my question was worded the wrong way. I've hunted elk down on sj a few timed in the past with close family that has drawn tags I have ran my dogs down in that country for years. I know the area pretty well. I've already made several scouting trips to look around put cameras out. I was just wanting to talk to some guys that have hunted the archery hunt in the last year or two to see how there over all experience was. I don't mean to affend if you have something negative to say towards me just pm or if anyone would like to talk elk hunting
