Finally Got a Decent Buck

This is my third mule deer and I finally got one that makes me happy. Got this one in CO, unit 17, near Waldon. Just got back to OH and took him to the taxi. Glad I decided to pick up a deer license with the land owner tag as we all had OTC 3rd antlered elk and never even saw one... of any kind. The elk had all left the ranch we were hunting and went to their winter range just south of Walden on a wildlife reserve before we even got there. Saw 3 hers of 200 -300 each. I was the only one of seven with a deer tag and got this boy. Neck was 32 inches. Has some good dark colored horns and some mass. I didn't see the pictures until I got back. Dang, didn't know the tongue was hanging out, red eyes, etc... Been out west 5 times, got three bucks and finally got one to mount. Any guesses on a score? The taxi will score him for me, but I'm not into doing it, so I got no clue. One guy hunting with us thought 180 before deductions. He's got 22" inside, 4x5 with browe tines and one of them is broken. Bases are just shy of 7" diameter. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Nice deer most everyone would be proud of that deer. I really hope to see one that nice come Saturday the opening. I shot one similiar to yours last year and he scored 168 not that the score really means that much, enjoy the memory forget the score.

Congrats, I forgot you were coming out! I moved from Fort COlins in July to Arizona but made it back in Sept. for archer elk and will be in Fort Collins on tuesday for my deer hunt..
I would guess the buck at 170-174 gross. Cool right side!
Did you go with black timber outfitters?

I am a native and alum from WI, so the badgers are my main team. However, the buckeyes are my wife's first and my second. Not a bad alternate... My Packers on the other hand are learning to gel. I expect they will be better next year.
