Out On a Limb-Colorado???

Hey guys,

I am planning '07 and thought I would go out on a limb on MM. I only have 3 deer points in Colorado. I am looking to hunt Colorado for the first time next year so I know nothing about the state as a NR. Can any of you Coloradoans give me some help? Units that are not too hard to draw? 170-180 potential in the unit? Good horse country in sage roller hills with oak and quakie patches? The ability to get away from roads using the horses? Also, I would be very interested in vouchers. Any unit suggestions with voucher prices would be a big help. I do not care what season as long as the 170-180 potential is there but would prefer 3rd or 4th season. I would appreciate any info to get me started. I am point broke in Utah and no longer have elk on my brain.;-)It's all about the mule deer now!

Another question is about youth tags in NM. Can anyone help me there? My daughter is turning 12 and has an interest in hunting so I gotta get her out!

If any one can/wants to help me please do it through a PM or my email so we can keep any information private.

Thanks!

ktc, my suggestion is to sign up for CO best here on MM. I have found the info to be very reliable and a good place to start. I also sent you a PM.

cabin,

Can you PM me an email address? The one I tried got a delivery failure.

Thanks.

Oh ya? So where is that!;-)

I will await your pm!

I really need to know about these vouchers? Can someone clue me in on units and prices. Is there a list to see what they may cost me? When does one get them? Remember, please pm or email me.

To those of you who helped, Thanks!

To those of you who still want to help, there is still time! :)

Not to sound too stupid...but what is this Colorado best that was mentioned?

I am in a similar position but with 6 points.

Colorado's best is some info put out by this website that gives you info on each unit, how many points it takes to draw, terrain, percentage of private verses public, etc. Well worth the money for it. I did it last year but it is still on this website somewhere.

The log in is at the top of this page. To sign up I believe is on the home page.If you cant find it, get in touch with Founder (Brian) and he'll get you taken care of. The cost is about $25
