s. cache elk

SO I have been looking for a month now and the only bull I have seen is one raghorn... anyone else with this tag want to join forces and bring together the elk locations. I know of at least 30 water holes. I have put trail cams on several and only had cows... maybe bulls will show closer to the hunt?

If you arent seeing bulls on the south cache you need to get to a different area. I went for a wheeler ride through the unit early am and saw several bulls, some good ones too. I dont have the tag but I wish i did.

Have you tried the north end of the unit? there are some good places to glass up The top of Cowley canyon to the east. Those Canyons hold elk.

LOOK ON BOULDER MOUNTAIN AS WELL. ALWAYS A LOT OF ELK OUT THAT WAY.

Ya I have tried both areas. Cowley is kinda broad... but ya I have been in there even before they opened the gate I was in the ravines... Bad Timing I guess.

Thanks, I am thinking you are right. I also hunt this unit every year... I have always shot cows and never a bull. I have shot a cow every year for the last 8 years. I have seen bulls a few times but never close. I usually hunt only a few spots that I dont think hold any good bulls. Getting a cow is easy. This bull stuff I have never paid attention to. I am a meat hunter mostly. SO why is it that if I buy a $180 tag I cant shoot a cow if I want?
