What camo pattern do you guys recommend for hunting Wyoming and Montana area in October?

unless its a stick gun hunt or a muzzle hunt... why bother! whats with the CAMO? during general rifle season! i mean, whats up wityh that?

MacVSog-Are you serious, I hunt camo all through rifle season, especially wool camo, I wear a camo blaze orange vest for breakup as well, any of us who have hunted alot know that 7 out of 10 times we will get closer to animals than expected. Very inexperienced comment.

than... how in the heck did the guys in the 40's 50's 60's and 70's ever get a chance at big deer? "Very inexperienced comment."

Really? wonder how many old school hunters are laughing at your comment! i guess no camo... no deer! really? are you hearing yourself?

back in the day big muley bucks would take a look back at yah, not today ole buddy...

I use camo all the time. I do think it helps. I really like Gods Country Camo, because they are such great guys, and it is a good product. The best camo is the set that makes you hold still.
If there is any snow use a white background pattern.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-14-06 AT 11:26PM (MST)[p]Don't even worry about camo since you have to wear orange. Just be sure not to wear something that is a light color. Light colors reflect light and are more visible, where as dark ones soak up the light wavelengths. The exception is snow.

Wow. Not many people actually answering your question. I'd say anything open. Cabela's outfitter, Natural Gear, Predator, Mossy Oak Brush, Advantage Max 1, Seclusion 3d open country. Anything that's not made to make you look like a tree trunk. That said, even the old Real Tree Xtra Brown and Xtra Gray work well out west. Remember, it's not about matching, it's about blending.

Camo is definitely not imperative, but I figure why get my work clothes bloody. Plus, much of it is designed for the temperature conditions and with hunting functionalities so it make sense. Good luck.

Thanks for all the replies. I figured to just get an open pattern. I'm actually surprised at the responses I got. I figured more people would wear camo than do. My question to them is, if your going to have to have insulated coats, jackets, pants, etc, why not go ahead and get camo? Maybe ya'll are the ones that need to listen to yourself? I'm looking to buy a coat this year; why would I want to get anything except camo? I wouldn't want to get a nice coat that I wear for everyday use, then get it bloody and have to be careful of the coat all week when I use it for hunting.
