Willamette and Santiam Unit Oregon

Is anyone planning on hunting the late general bow season in oregon? This is my first time hunting blacktails and I am planning on hunting around Mt. Hood. What should I expect and does anyone know a good place to start? Thanks

Gonna hunt second season elk up out of Silverton. U need to get farther west for some good blacktail hunting.

Get a map and check out "Drakes Crossing" It's about 10 miles east of Silverton up the hwy towards Silver Creek Falls. There is a rural fire station there. Head up Drakes about 5 miles. Starts out paved and turns into gravel after about a mile. Huntin is good up there, but it can be crowded. Not much public land around here. Stay off the posted property around there. The owner WILL press charges and has been known to flatten tires.

I was up there two weeks ago and saw two forked horns right off the road.
