For those that know, maybe you can help me out.
When was the regular rifle season dates for mule deer this year in Region W area 82 and Region D area 80 or 81?
When was the archery season open for this same unit?
If I understand correctly, you can draw a general region tag as a non-resident, buy an archery license for $25 and hunt during archery and rifle???
What, if any would be the reason for applying for an archery only tag in these same regions?

Maybe someone can help me out on this.
Thanks,

Off hand, I don't believe there is an archery only license that you can apply for. In other words, buying the $25 archery license is the only way you can partake in the archery season. This is the case for most areas in WY.

I was reading the proclamations and it talked about a type9 license being archery only. Any ideas?

The type 9 is for the archery only seasons. The reason for applying for these tags is a lot of the time it is an easier draw.

There are no type 9 licenses for deer in Wyo. There are type 9 Elk Archery Only, which is limited quota for the given area--no archery hunting there with just a Gen. Elk lic. and an archery license.

Come on guys, someone has to know exactly what's up with wyoming. Has anyone hunted area 80,81,82?

80 and 81 are in region D. The rifle season starts Oct. 1. 82 is in region W and begins Oct 1. as a regional tag and Oct. 15 as a limited quota hunt. If you draw one of these regions or a single area, you simply by an archery stamp and hunt during the archery season. This season, which should begin in early September, will have dates listed in the packet sent to you after you pull a tag. These dates are not listed in the Nonres booklet. I don't know why, either, but that is the way it is.

I guess I will contact wyoming fish and game, don't want to get a tag if I can't have that time off or have it conflict with another hunt. Anyone else?
Thanks Himtnhntr, the most info yet.
