I cant beleave it, Today I got a call from Idaho fish and game letting me know that I drew a Super Tag for Elk. All I can say Is (HOLY Sh.T) and a few selective other words to the woman telling me this on the phone, with that said, I do not have a clue where to start and even what unit to hunt, so I am here to see if any of you MM members could send me in the right direction or should I get a Guide? thanks
 
Congrats on the TAG!!!! Heck yah get a guide! Thats a once in a "hundred" lifetimes opportunity tag!

Sorry man can't help you out with anything in Idaho, but what a great tag. Congratulations you lucky ***. I would look into getting a guide if you can swing it. Once in a lifetime for sure!
 
where do u live ??? there are several good areas that hold good bulls..I would not waste my $$ on a guide if u are an Idaho resident or if u have time to scout..
 
Thanks you guys for everything! It looks like I will start scoutting in unit 46 and 47 next week! I cant wait for this start, Talk about a HIGH, I think I might stop drinking coffee at this point so I can sleep. thanks again Joe
 
You definately don't need a guide! I would scout 46 and 54. Call F&G in Twin,and get ahold of the biologist and they will line you out. Great tag man!

I need to find someone that would like to give me a hand on this hunt, my best friend already has a hunt in Wyoming and he already helped me last year in New mexico unit 17 and my family cant get the time off, can you beleave it, a hunt of a life time and It looks like it will be ME and my dog Skipper. HA HA HA. I will post Skipper pictures!
 
Pay Mossback 50,000 to send 20 guys out to scour the state and babysit a bull so you can show up and shoot it,thats what elk hunting is all about right?Thats the kind of hunting that gets respect here...
 
It would not surprise me in the least to see someone come to your aide and help you out on this hunt. Might even be several someone?s. I could only wish to be able to help out on a hunt like that or even tag along if you decided to go with the Mossback crew. It would be a great experience. Im sure TopGun would too but he's kind of busy this year, ha ha ha LOL? There must be someone on this site or maybe a lurker that would really like to and be excited to help you out. Don?t pay any attention to NONYAMT, I don't understand his frustration with Mossback or any other guide for that matter. You have a once and a billion life time tag, make the very best out of it and this hunt experience. If that means getting Mossback or any other guide to fulfill this dream then by all means do it! You only live once and there's gonna be a whole lot of jealous envious hunters out there that would love your problem. :)

GBA---You sure got that right! If I didn't have that 6A elk hunt in AZ with you next month and then all those other hunts following it, I would help him in a heartbeat. To be honest, the one I'd really like to help on is that sheep hunt that one_dryboot has coming up. That is a hunt that I have always dreamed about and I do think I would give up certain body parts to go on that one and help him!!! I hope both these guys have great hunts and kill an animal that we can only dream about!!!
 
Travis---It sounds to me like he ought to hook up with you and the outfit in your post. I see you're on their Prostaff and that outfit may be just what he needs for a successful hunt.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-18-11 AT 11:31PM (MST)[p]My 2 largest bucks came off state land dipsh1t,and please explain to me how shooting md on private land has anything to do with this(other than your obvious jealousy).My point was that if you draw a state wide super tag and have no idea where to start right before the season starts you better come up with some cash for a top notch outfitter,who better than Mossback?Even with the hundreds of eye witness reports of their unethical practices they are treated like hunting gods here so why not,its obvious those reports ALL came from liars(even though some of them came from members right here on MM),back in the day there was another guy treated the same way and he had his ranks of defenders as well,until the day the sh1t hit the fan and he was proved to be exactly what some had been saying for years,Ill bet some of the Kirt Darner clan are still around?
