This buck is absolutely UNREAL! I don't have the score, or spread, or any measurements. My good buddies great grandad shot this buck I believe in the 1950's in the Slide Ridge unit in WA state. Any guesses on score? I have a set of sheds that go 190" and this buck DWARFS them. I'm thinking somewhere around 220". Check it out!

Maybe I'm a little bit optimistic, but the pic doesn't do him justice. He's got lots of blading, and I've never seen another buck with his kind of mass. Guarantee that he's atleast 210". I'll see if I can call my buddy and we can get him scored.

I like the ears! Definitely a big buck, but Michael, keep i mind that mass really doesn't do much at all for score. Thin and long outscores short and fat every time. Well, depending on who you ask

:( Somebody didn't like bouncing betty :(

Tony, good point. Obviously I don't know how to score a buck so that's something that needed to be pointed out for me. Thanks. So, all my guesses aside, what do you guy's think he's score? Thanks.

And that is why B&C scoring is good for what it is, but really doesn't help you much in the field. I would take decent length with mass any day over long and thin.

I love the commentary in this thread! He is a pig! Those eyeguards ought to add 10-12" to the gross, is he 30" wide though? Just due to short points and mediocre beams, I don't think he'll gross any more than 200" I do not intend to degrade or devalue that deer by any means, I just think B&C is designed to reward a different frame configuration. I waould love to hose him though! Tell your buddy to remount him, or we could all pitch in 20 bucks to at least replace the cardboard ears!LOL

Awesome find, I'd call the official scorer for sure. I just stepped it off, point by point, and came up with:

211 gross
204 net

Even if these estimates are off a bit, he'll definitely reach the all-timer mark.

If you check some muley hunting books, you will find that according to David Long, tines length makes up 70% of the bucks score. That only leaves 30% for inside spread and mass and explains why most typical book bucks are less than 30" muleys. Mike Eastman says that the front forks, main beam, and inside spread makes up 65% of a bucks score, and mass makes up 18%, the rest comes from the back forks. Good stuff to know when you are trying to score a b&c buck, but that should never be the only criteria.

I guess I'm a conservative bugger, and put him at about 195-198, short of 200. It really doesn't matter though, that thing is incredible and one the book just doesn't do justice to. Mass is everything to me, so he rates HIGH in my book. Thanks for sharing the pics Michael, and its good to see another Washington hawg. Now if only I can find his great great great.........grandchild!

That thing is HUGE, I think the mass distorts how long some of those tines really are. Get him scored and lets find out what he goes.

Boneaddict I'm with you, It appears its in the 180s and the eyeguards pop it up into the 190s. Just my opinion I'm no expert at field judging, yet picture judging.

Thanks guys, he's deffinatley a HAWG! I'm on Christmas break after this thursday and will see if I can't convince my buddy to take it out of his dad's basement to get it scored...
