Fellas, and gals as far as that goes, I have several wall pedestal mule in my home, so want to try something new. Does anyone have a good example of a mule deer pedestal mount. I will probably go with a table mount, but not against a floor either. Thanks all.

If you give me your e-mail address I will send you some photos I have found of some good pedestal mounts. I am getting a double pedestal dome of my last two velvet muleys so have been looking for ideas.

I have several pedestal mounts of different species and would encourage you to have your taxidermist sculpture the baseside rather than having a flat back. Many of the pedestal mannikans need to be altered to look more "lifelike". Another suggestion would be to have tanned hide on the back with a thin interwoven strand of the same leather around the outside. I really think it adds class to the mount!

I guess I can post them here. These are not my photos. They have been lifted from various taxidermist's webpages. I had downloaded them to help me decide how I wanted to do my last 2 velvet bucks. I think I am going with something similar to the first photo. The first three photos were the favorite muley mounts I found. The last photo is a couple of Sitka Blacktails.

No I didn't kill any of the bucks I posted. They are just mounts I found while trying to decide how I wanted to get my last two velvet bucks mounted. They have all come off of various taxidermists webpages.

Miller,

We need to see a picture of the buck you plan on mounting to get an idea what would look best. ;-)

I'm thinking of going with a pedistal mount with the whitey I killed this year.

More pictures please. :D

I really like those pedastal mounts...If I ever kill anything worthy, I will get one done. this years whitetails would have actually been cool, but alas, I'm just euroing them..

Got a couple more here for ya. Got the taxidermist name and number if ya want that too..

It's probably just me, but I think the pedestal mounts with deer growing on trees as they often appear are sort of hokey. I much prefer them mounted closer to the base with just some rocks and maybe some tall grass around them. -TONY
