preseason scouting

How do you guys scout during the preseason and when do u find the time?

i think of a place i've seen but never been or i look at topos, find an area and visit it. when do i find the time? when i want to. if something is important enough to do, you do it. that's no secret.

As soon as you get done with the current years hunts you should start scouting the winter range and rutting grounds for next years hunts. Then when its app. time you know what your going to do.
As for finding time, dont know what to tell ya.

Work and budgets can be manipulated easily enough for a true con artist. Right, MM'ers?
The important part is when I say to the wife 'okay, I've had enough kiddy-stuff for the past couple of months, how about me and the older boys go out and do some MAN stuff?'. Well, when that doesn't work worth bean dip I come back with 'then how would you like to get rid of me for a while after payday?'

I make three or four phone calls and get my team of guys out in the field then make sure the Mule Deer Foundation has all my tags lined up. . .

I fire up the engine on the ol shoot plane and head out for some ariel scouting/harrassing. Nothing better then cruising around at 30' above the trees and busting out the deer who think they are hidden. You should try it sometime!!!

sremin, I use a chute plane also. We just got back from Colorado Scouted 4 differnt units last week. Saw some awesome bucks. I dont have to worry about where to burn my Co. points next year.
Your crazy for getting that low. 30' would scare the hell outta me. You hit a draft and its all over. I usually stay just a bit higher.
