Been Another Late Warm Fall once again!

Hopping the StickFlippers can GIT-R-DONE in the next few days!

Over many years I've seen the last week of the LE Archery Elk Hunts as Good as it gets for any Weapon/Hunter!

The last couple years have been a little Different!

I can only Imagine the StickFlippin Crowd Stompin their Feet & Puffin their Chests & SCREAMIN they want the Hunt moved later so they can Hunt the RUT!

I say lets move all Hunts out of the RUT,even the StickFlippers!

That sucker looks like a simmental bull with an elk's head and antlers. Huge, top to bottom. It looks like you hit him with a 9 inch board head but I guess it's just fresh blood.

The main beam mass is stunning.

Its a nevada bull hunted 10 of 16 days solo and was solo when i killed but did have a great friend coming to help for the next morning hunt, instead we were packing my bull out. Passed on a lot of bulls, some 350 class that were tempting but i wasnt ready to be done yet, wish i was still hunting! First shot was quartering away 30 yards, second shot was a bad 42 yard broadside shot just before he went into the trees. First elk tag i have had and the taxidermist green scored him gross 371 with 55 and 57 inch main beams and 59 inches of mass, he isnt very symectrical (sp?) but nets are for fishing!

I know of several bulls hitting the dirt this week. I had a 320 and a 340 bull within shooting range last friday (too bad they were not spikes!). The cooler weather is sure helping! The stick flipper hunt is tough but the payoff is huge when you kill one.

I think the Bowhunter should get all of Sept.!!!! lol

Did I hear my name somewhere??? Guess what B-bop, I am with you on this one(damn I must be wrong). After they took us out of the november muzzy season I say everyone else should suffer too!! If I can't hunt the rut screw the rest of you!!(HOLY HELL NOW i EVEN SOUND LIKE YOU) Really though if anyone gets to hunt it it should be rich dudes who buy tags(governors, and antelope island) they need all the help they can get. Oh yeah and the CWMUs obviously should get special consideration. Oh yeah and the conservation(see rich guys) tags. In all seriousness I wouldn't mind the only rut hunts being youth hunts, want to get a kid hooked, but him in with the screaming bulls, he'll be hooked!

hey hoss! there you go screwing up your reputation again!. Agreeing with B-Bop and then I agree with you. What's the world coming to? I think that the rut hunts should go to the youth. However, I still think the archery guys should be allowed to hunt some of the rut. I'm not so sure about you ML guys anymore. I shot one of those TC Contenders and shot a 6" group at 300 yards. Tell me that's a primitive weapon!

The funnest deer hunt I have had was before we all had inlines, I shot a Thompson New Englander .50 throwing out Maxi hunters(345 grain?) and loose powder. Killed a smaller buck, but it was my first with this gun. It was Nov., snowed like hell so getting around was next to imposible, but we saw a ton of deer, a bunch of good bucks. I would go back to side hammer, loose powder, even patch and ball if we could hunt late like that again. No, my Knight is far from primitive, and hunting in later sept. is great, just because we can camp on top and get everywhere, but man I miss nov. deer hunting! As for B-bop, even after I wrote that I re read it several times, still can't believe me and that clown agree on something. I really don't have a problem with the archery guys going during the rut though.
