We never gave up!

Nice job. I applaud you sire for sticking with it and putting you tag on that fine animal. Many would not have put in that much effort to recover a wounded animal. Nice job. Very nice. And great looking bull to boot.

Just curious but were did you hit him? And what were you shooting?

To me, the persistance you showed in recovering that animal makes it more impressive that any 400" bull I've ever seen. Congratulations on the hunt and a great find.

It's always an adventure!!!

Way to stick with it until you found the bull. You are definitely in the minority for hanging in there that long.

Nice looking bull and cool pic of the mud bath.

I hit him right behind the lung in the liver waited six hour befor tracking him. I was useing a 100gr nitron

Good job! It's great to hear you recovered your bull. Many can learn from your example. You found the bull you shot. Good lookin bull!

I would also like to say way to stick with it! Buddy of mine hit a nice 26 inch 4 point buck this year up by tonys grove on the north cache and he lost blood after about 2 hours and gave up. Me and a couple others kept looking while he went in search of a "new" buck. Pissed me off and I wont help him out again. Kind of feel like its my fault because i took the stupid guy up there. Never did find the buck. Anyway, thanks for showing the animal a little respect and searching til you found him. Takes a lot of patience and persistance.

I applaud your guys persistence. 9 Days is a super long time, compared to the few stories on here of guys givin up after a few hours. Thats a great trophy bull. Sucks about the meat, but nature will take its course and do other things with it than just feed us.

Way to stick with it and not give up. It's too bad about the meat but you did all you could to recover the bull. Great looking bull.

Fantastic bull and good on you for keeping after him. I have several friends and family elk hunting with me this year. If any of us shoot a bull and don't wont a shoulder mount I would be happy to give you the cape if you would like it. I will let you know. Good job.

Way to stick with it!! I had a similar situation in 2009 with my bull, and found it on the 4th day. I think I hit in the same spot as you, just a hair behind the lungs.

I'm curious, how'd he smell when you found him??? :) haha

Great bull and way to stick with it. Now that is dedication to that bull and makes it all the more memorable for you. that is what it is all about. I am hoping my buddy up there can pull one out as well. Congrats!

Thank for all the posts. he will make a nice mount to hang on the wall and remember the hunt

Great job hanging in there and not giving up.
Most yahoo's would not of cared and hunted another animal. I respect your tenacity and integrity.
I know you may still feel down on yourself but it could happen to anyone....But unlike most you chose the right path and were rewarded with something at the end of the trail.
Best,
Jerry

Awesome Job 79. I'd like to hear more details on what went on during days 2-9 and what you did or didn't find.
