After 18 days of hunting I was lucky enough to finally get a shot at good bull. Thanks to my son ( lefysbowman)and friends for all the help and support.

To the ethics police the shot you can see was an attempt to get a second arrow in it through the pines.:)

I'm one of those guys that spent way more than 20 days on that unit after my own bull! Congrats on a nice animal even though I can't see the picture for some reason. I'm sure if it's nice to you it will be nice to me as well.

It's always an adventure!!!

Congrats on getting it done on a unit that has been realy rough this year! Definatly a bull worth holding your head up high over. Hope my buddy pulls one out up there tonight being the last evening. He deserves it and you do too. Good job.

He will look good on the wall, Tough hunt and a tough hunter.

First of all I wouldn't be the avid hunter I am without my old man dragging me around when I was a little guy so this hunt was a payback for all of the times he missed out on animals to drag me and the other kids around. It was fun taking my two boys and my hunting buddies boys along on this adventure as well and hope they can re-pay me later:)!. It also doesnt hurt that I LOVE elk hunting:)! (Actually I love any kind of hunting..as long as I am in the mountians or fields!)

Going through withdrawls here!!!! After 2+ months of scouting...shooting and just getting into shape this was a fun hunt...frustrating at first with all of the people but settled down and just enjoyed being out in the woods and it all came together. I would rather be lucky than good any day...200 yard pack to the truck down-hill...added 40 P/Y points right there!
I have to give props to the old man...he hung in there while I tried to drag him around in the nasty stuff but the elk cooperated and moved into some more "accessable" country, just had to be "patient".

This was the fifth year in a row with seven tags that I have been able to tag along on a LE hunt, two rifle and the rest archery. I am the next one in line to draw (who knows when for sure) and I don't know if I can handle the pressure of holding the tag after all of this "guiding" stuff:)!! We have been fortunate and the Elk Gods have definatly looked down on us!

Good luck to everyone else who have tags to fill...waiting for some of these monsters the rifle guys are smoking to show up here!

A few more pics for you...one day I will get a better camera but until I can go without breaking one a year...we will see!

Heading out..

?The bugle of the bull elk echo?s through the pines, the north wind moans her lonesome lullaby, he hungers for the freedom of an eagle as she flies?somewhere beyond the great divide?
