I have a San Juan late Elk tag this year, been doing alot of research and a little scouting. I have seen a few really nice bulls so far. Any one have some insite on where to be come Nov? I know weather plays a huge role. Thanks

Private land down around the bottom and spread out all the way to eastland area.

Gator is right on that and unfortunately you cant hunt that area because it is not part of the unit, that is an open bull unit.

Late season hunt on the san juan is one of the toughest hunts you will find, lots of tag holders eat tag soup or end up shooting small bulls on this hunt. Local guides tell hunters to shoot any 320 plus bull.

Thanks for everyone's input. I have or had 15pts I think i might turn my tag in and wait a couple more years to get the better tag. A 320-330 bull is very respectable and I am proud of mine but after this many years of waiting to hunt a premium unit I would like a chance at a premium bull. I am not afraid of a hard hunt on foot or Mule back, I have just heard alot of negitinve feedback on the late hunt. Any input or advise is welcome. Thanks
