Numorous Muzz Elk Shots?

There is/was a Hunter on a Limited Entry Muzz Elk Unit making shots daily with a Hawkens Rifle attempting & admitting to shots anywhere from 40 to 325 yard shots on a regular basis.
I guess if an Inline is good for 400-500 yards a Hawkens should be good for 325 right?
I can't help but think there ain't going to be a bunch of wounded Bulls?
Oh Well,if Archers are comfortable with 150+ yard shots, and Long Range Rifles are good for 1,200 yards, I guess there ain't nothing wrong with what this guy is doing?

I'm up here on my deer hunt and can confirm the same things happening!!! I wonder how many bull are walking around gut shot!!!

I've been hunting the Wasatch and all the big bulls I've been after are in thick cover. If I finally take a shot, it will probably be under 30 yards. I almost need a bayonet to keep the satellites of me. How do I get the herd bull to come out where I can shoot him? Once I'm close, if I bugle, the bull takes his cows and leaves. If I cow call, I get humped by a satellite and he spooks everything. Maybe I need to hunt an area that is more open.

Seen a guy sending bullets towards every elk on the LE rifle this year.... Slob hunting at it's WORST..

Troutsnifer, try to stay quiet and keep working the bull, Stay down wind and eventually you should get your shot. Otherwise all your doing is locating yourself. I archery hunt the thick juniper stuff and have had it pay off by just working the herd bull and staying quiet.

Hey it happens in Colorado too.. had some guys justifying 150 and 200 yard shots with iron sights (open sights)with muzzys. Considering, the rules here I personally would not shoot over 100 yards.. I guess shooting once a week doesn't make me a good enough shot to take those long muzzy shots.. I should start going 2 times a week....

Try shooting more then one shot per week LOL
You don't have to go more just shoot more. See how they do it.

I went on a Muzzleloader hunt in New Mexico a few years ago. The biologist told me that there's more elk wounded on the muzzleloader hunt than all hunts combined, because they shoot to far.
