Opening day of the Utah limited entry hunt I had the priveledge to go with my good friend Heath Latham on his hunt. With the help of some very good spotters Heath was able to put this great bull on the ground. He shot it with his Hazer Bulkley rifle with a bison barrel that a friend of his made for him for this hunt.

He was happy to be able to have his family along after the kill and especially for the pack job!

When you guys talk about spotters is it legal to use 2 way radios in UT to track game?
 
Heath is as Knowledgeable on that Mountain Range as anybody I know.
Look at the 3rds on that Bad Boy.
Great Bull for a Guy that has waited his turn.
Was wondering if & when this was going to hit the net.

It is legal, but they were not looking where we were hunting. They helped turn this bull up before the hunt and were looking for worthy plan "b" bulls.
 
Ive hunted with Heath before hell of a guy and if anyone knows the SJ its Heath. Im always happy for guys that punch big animals on their own mtn.

Wow! What an awesome bull for a great guy. I ran into Heath a few times while scouting when I had the SJ tag and even though he was guiding paying customers, he was happy to help me learn the unit and find bulls Awesome for him to finally get a monster on his home unit. Stud bull every way you look at him. Love those beams.

Another Monster Bull, The BIG Bull elkhunters have been putting them on the ground this year.So many really nice bulls have shown up here on MM. Seems like it was a good year to have a tag.

Talking to a friend a day before the hunt he showed me pictures of this bull in velvet after he heard we were after him. The pictures were taken on the other side of the mountain. He said they passed him the year before and he grew about 30" because of it. Thanks Travis for the pics!
 
Hey, thats deen lyman in that last picture with heath! I like deen, he's one cool dude! I will have to agree that heath and deen are good guys so that must mean the other guys are outstanding guys as well.

Man heath, will and heather are gonna fire your butt! You gettin a bigger bull than them and all. ROFL, just givin you crap man. but you could have at least tried to herd it to the springcreek couldn't you? lol
