I shot this bull at 7 AM on Saturday Morning. He was not the biggest bull on the mountain that we saw but I couldn't be happier. This was the funnest hunts I have ever been on. We were in Elk everyday. I shot and missed a bigger bull on Thursday morning, I was just hoping for another shot. Saturday morning we were hiking down the trail that we hiked down every morning and we could hear him bugling in the quakies working his way up to the pines, as it became shooting light we could see 2 cows walking up and over the top to the pines so when they went out of sight we made sure there wasn't any other cows and we went on the back side of the ridge and came up higher on the trail and sat next to a pine tree, about a minute later he walked up and at 85 yards as soon as he stopped I shot and he dropped in his tracks about 10 feet off the trail. That made the pack out a lot easier but it was still 2 miles in and the work began. He is a 6x5

Excellent "front stuffer" bull! Congratulations.

You're right, there's more to the hunt than inches although that seems to be about all we talk about.

Well done,
Zeke

Glad to hear about it and thanks for taking time to come over during lunch this afternoon. Thanks for keeping me up to date and sending me the photos all the way through too. Really happy for you! Wish I could have been there, but I like living through you vicariously. Let me know when the Taxi is done with that bad boy!
