Colorado advice?

My father and I are unsure what to do in Colorado (non-res). We have only 2 bonus points after '06, but he is getting up in years and we won't be waiting 10 more years to get a super quality area. I want to be able to hunt with him in CO either this year or next.

Does anyone have advice to offer about units that provide a decent hunt with only 2-3 points? We may be interested in landowner options also. Not trophy hunters, but we would like to see some bucks and have an opportunity to see/harvest a nice buck (24"-28"??).

Any info/advice about tags/units to look into would be great. I should mention that we are both very capable of hunting pretty hard, but don't use horses or ATV's.

Thanks guys,

Shane

this link should help you narrow it down to units that can be gotten for 2-3 points:

Then research the statistics at the DOW website on how many hunters and hunter success in those units. Sorry, but finding what you are after takes some time and research. Thing is, you are "hunting" for a good area. It can be fun in the off season.

You might contact rocky mountain ranches and see about a tresspass unguided hunt on private land. I have heards some good things about them.

Good luck.

Thanks for the replies. Asking the guys here on MM is part of my hunt for an area to go to!!! We are researching elsewhere also. Neither of us is at all wealthy, but like to hunt. Always seems to be a few guys who can point a person toward or away from a certain avenue.

Don't know what you mean by "Sign up for CO best here on MM" though.

Thanks
