Quiet on the San Juan

The elk seem to have finished rutting already, least no bugling for a week now.
Anybody hunting the Blues or Spring creek find that the elk are non existent and hid out?

thats funny, are first seasonsont start till this wedesday, we dot eve expect bugles and it's still a great hunt. Only in utah are people pissed that they had a rifle or muzzy elk tag and the bulls were't bugleing

Who said anything about being pissed?
Wondering what's going on in different parts of southern Utah mean that?

I was less than 30 yards from a screaming bull Sat. morning at first light on the San Juan. He was behind a couple giant junipers and I never did get to see him before the wind swirled and they snuck off. He had been tearing up trees all around in there. Another satalite bull was with him and a bunch of cows. I'll suggest they were definitely hid out, but far from quiet.

The biggest bull I saw was about a 340 bull out in the low country with two raghorns a few hundred yards away. So YMMV :)

Cheers,
Pete
