So I gave this a try on UWN but no real chance....
First off, I have been a lurker on here for, ummm, well I would have to say 6-7 years? so I might as well start posting up.
Well, long story short my newly wedded wife(6months) is not too keen on my going up for the muzzleloader hunt alone. I had a buddy who was coming out from Mississippi to join me, but he had to cancel about a month ago.
I am a 23 year old BYU student, culinary grad(so good eats are in the mix), and am in good shape.
I have gone out scouting several times....not too encouraging yet, but I have hunted this area for several years with my family and there are good numbers of elk there, snow just seems to help bring them out. Nevertheless if the elk are shy, there are tons of grouse in the area so we will have something to snack on in camp.
I have a Jeep Grande Cherokee that runs great and can haul gear/animals.
The area is above Scofield and I am located in Orem, looking to go up Thursday Nov 3 and coming back late saturday night or sunday morning/afternoon.
So looking for some guys to come on up and join me, or if someone is looking for a camp cook/meat packer in exchange for the chance to smoke my own spike I am game.
Let me know....

Post that on Craig's List and I'll bet you get some takers!... :)

Well maybe had there been less sarcasm and more manners somebody could have shot one of the other 3 spikes that was with mine this morning....or one of the 10 or so others in the other 400 elk I saw since thursday...oh well, your loss.

Thanks guys, it was a seriously nasty packout...and the 12 hour butcher session was brutal, but I have just over 200 lbs of roasts, steaks, burgers, and stew in the freezer and am on cloud nine! Now to fill the extended archery deer tag....

Just the teeth and the bullet recovery, they are on my phone...and I am a bit of a technotard, but I'll try to get them up here.

While you were killing a spike, I was killing a raghorn, but congrats on your success.
