Anyone out there have a tag?? Just got back from there and would be willing to share some information about what we saw.

A guy I work with and his friend both have tags. They are older guys that have hunted together their whole lives. This will probably be their only chance at a nice bull I am sure they would love any info they could get.

I have been thinking about applying for this hunt. I have 9 points this year, so I should have a dedent chance at drawing. I have never been to the bookcliffs before so it makes me nervous applying for a tag where I have never hunted before. IS this something you would recomned I look into further? Any help would be greatly appricieated!

I think the Bookcliffs is a great unit. I hunted the late hunt a few years ago with my wife?s sister and the early hunt last year with my wife. Below is a picture of the bull she took. From being there twice it seems that her bull is a typical bull that you can expect to see during both hunts. (It score 343). We saw a lot of bulls around this size and a few that were a bigger (360-370 range)that we were unable to get on. My wife?s sister took a bull that scored 357. I am hoping to draw the late hunt as well so I don't want to give specifics but I don't think you will be disappointed. Good luck.

Thanks for sharing! That is an awesome bull! Good luck to you on drawing your tag.

They shouldn't have much trouble finding an Elk. Here is my brothers first Elk from the Books. We scored it @ 360, but his taxidermist scored it @ 334. I'm not sure what we did wrong, but I'm sure the taxi knows better than us.

It was the best Elk we found after 7 days of hard hunting (not riding wheelers all day and calling from the top of every ridge like the rest of the "hunters")

Good luck!

Your score must have been gross and his net because it is for sure bigger than 334. That is an awesome bull.
