Well it has taken about 20 years to finally get a six point. I have been very lucky over the years and have came close. Several spikes and raghorns, few 5 points as well. Just never could break into the six point range. Not the largest out there but I have a great wall that has been waiting for him. Skull mount with the Bull Hooker and will fit just fine until the shoulder mount one is down...hopefully next year or maybe one of the kids will get lucky and get the big one.

Congrats, and welcome to the 6 point club!
A lot of general unit, public land, do it yourself ers may never kill a straight 6x6.
(of course the above statement does not apply to the great MM hunters, just everyone else:))

Congratulations!!!

LAST EDITED ON Nov-15-11 AT 09:13PM (MST)[p]Thanks for the positive comments. You're correct. There's much pride in the fact that we've harvested great animals and it's all on private land. We use our share of diesel fuel though throughout the year. We had a great year. If your interested check out the Wyoming forum for pictures of all the critters we harvested this year. Check the post 2011 season.

wasted cape -yep - most taxidermist will give a discount for skull mounts if ya let them have the cape

just a thought for the future -

nice first 6x6 congrates

Long story short...yea I messed up the cape. I knew I wasn't going to shoulder mount due to just missing my goal by a few inches and a bit weak overall. I do my own skull mounts though. The cape was unreal also, nice and black. Messed up even though I wasn't shoulder mounting. So used to just cutting the whole way up on those little raghorns...thanks for the comments though.
