my first elk

LAST EDITED ON Nov-29-11 AT 11:17AM (MST)[p]Got this 6X6 on my first elk hunt ever! It was a fun father-daughter weekend in Fort Peck, Montana. Hiked for two hours without seeing anything before spotting a cow quite a ways away on the next ridge. Decided to get closer to check it out. Took us nearly 45 minutes to hike up and down steep slopes and through a creek to get there. When we got there all we saw was one cow and a spike. The cow heard us and took off. The next time we saw them was at 600 yards. After the spike, 4 cows, and a calf came up on the hillside I finally spotted this guy. We snuck up a little closer. All it took was one shot through the heart at 326 yards and my deep freezer is full!

Yes, I have a great dad! Been going hunting with him since I started walking. He always took me hunting as a child because I have a knack for spotting wildlife. I did pack some of the meat out, but the hind quarters and head each weighed more than I do!

Wait, let me get this straight. I post on here and harass rug and bessy and rutnbuck all of whom I consider good friends. I raz them as I do all my friends and tell the hunter great job. I simply said rugarm77 was gay. Which was a joke as all of us know from previous posts. Then my post gets nuked????? wtf?! so its ok for some worthless POS to publicly hit on a girl posting pictures but I cant harass my own friends? Whatever. Nuke this post to. I'm sure its the same nuke happy mod that nukes all my posts. I believe the last pm he sent me eluded to the fact that he hates me because I'm unbelievably rich and get to hunt places he can only dream of. In case you haven't noticed I quit posting pictures of my kills and my wifes kills and my sons kills. Talking about things getting nuked, has anyone besides myself been wondering why the entire thread on this Forum about the elk head being cut off and taken by someone before the animal was found the next morning by the hunter who had shot it was pulled?
