2 Min Video of Late Season Bull - Expo Tag

Here are some pics and a video from my Utah late season elk hunt. I drew an expo tag (1 in 1,500 odds) earlier this year. My brother filmed as we stalked to within 80 yards of this bull and I shot four times until he went down.

I was shooting a 7mm with 160 gr Barnes triple-shocks. There were three exit wounds and I found the fourth slug buried in his opposite front shoulder.

I just did a skull mount, but still caped him out as he had the most gorgeous thick cape I've ever seen. Send me a PM if you are looking to buy one. It has one small entrance hole in the front shoulder from the first shot. Its in the freezer and I'm planning on trading it in at a taxidermist.

Awesome bull and video! I would look at getting different bullets. He should have piled up sooner. Didn't even act like he got hit.

Great video and heck of a bull. Glad to see you tried to get a little closer even if you were shooting a large caliber rifle. Congrats!

Didn't even act like he got hit.

Except for the part where he hacked out a lung and died within fifty yards.....yeah, those bullets sucked.

When I hit elk with my bullets it's obvious. That bull didn't show it but yes he did die. He should after 4 shots.

The photo of the bullet shows that it performed well. Good mushroom and it held together, delivering the needed force. Elk are tough buggers.

close shots doesn't help the bullet performance, But it sure did the trick. Good Looking Bull.
