CO Unit 62?

I have a couple of freinds that are trying to get me to go with them to 62 this year. I just wanted to see what you guys thought of the unit. I used all of my points in 2005 on unit 54( great hunt--3rd season) so I only have one point.I would greatly appreciate any info! This would be for the 3rd season.

I heard that 62 had lots of public land, but lots of hunters too. I had 1 point myself and was considering putting in for this unit. I was told that the deer were average here and the unit would be a good one for a first-timer.

I have hunted unit 62 for the last five years,mainly for elk.I have been in there during archery,2nd,3rd,rifle each year has seen more people than the last.This past season with the early snows there was hardly any game on top off the divide road during the 3rd season.WE did see lots of deer and elk low on private ground,nothing large.Over the last few years I have noticed more deer but again mostly small to medium bucks.The area south by ridgeway was where we seen the largest concentrations this year,but in years past when there were not early snows the game was more spread out.Just like most areas in colorado there are some trophies to be had,but you better show up 4-5 days before the season and scout hard if you have never been there before.If you want some more specific info shoot me a pm and I will try to help you out any way that I can.
