Video & hunt give away?

LAST EDITED ON Feb-10-07 AT 12:43PM (MST)[p]Some questions for you video watchers. Starting this July we will be joining the video market world. We will be offering a subscription introductory price for $50.00 per year. Every two months a new DVD would be delivered to our subscribers. Or you can purchase them individually for 12.99 We don't operate any hunts on public land so all of our hunting footage would come from private land in Utah, Montana, and Wyoming. From the start our hunts would consist of mule deer, elk, moose, antelope, whitetail, turkey, upland game, goose, predators & a few prairie dog segments.

1. Do you video buyers care if it is private or public land? Or are you more interested in the quality of footage?

2. What species, and with what weapons would you guys like watch?
Also any other suggestions you video watchers would have would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also toying with the idea of giving away a hunt for the 2008 season to one luck subscriber. The hunt will not be just a cheap antelope or turkey hunt, but it would be the ultimate package. The winner could pick the state species and time of year. A $15,000 + value. Also, we might set the lucky winner up with as much gear as possible: bino's gun, camo, boot's, back pack, etc.

3. Do you guys think, would the give away honestly influence your decision to purchase?

Please give me as much feedback as possible so we can customize this as much as possible, and tailor it to the needs and wants of you the viewers, and what you guys want to see.

i dont think it would matter. just as long as they dont wait for as much footage as posible and pull a bad shot. you see that all the time they are so rapped up in getting film, that they take a bad shot then cut away and its dark or the next day.

I don't care if it's public or private land. Preferably rutting Elk/Mule Deer. a few Moose/Goat hunts would be cool, and Sheep is always enjoyable. I would be more likely to subscribe if you gave away a $15,000 hunt. In fact you can sign me up right now if I can win!!

I would personally prefer big game only. When it comes to private/public land I would prefer public, but I know it is more possible to do this on private land. It seems like it is more entertaining to realize it is an area anyone can hunt if it is public land hunts. The hunt give away is a plus, but most of us assume it will never be us that gets drawn!(unless in denial!)

I'd like to see all big game hunts. I orefer public land but have nothing against private. As for the hunt, I would be more likely to subscribe if there were multiple drawings (gear, bino, boots, etc. ) rather than one lucky guy getting it all.

I would be very interested, as long as you focus on big game, or separate videos for birds, coyotes, etc. As non-resident, have no interest in anything but big game, and would think this would apply to the majority of us.

Don't care if on public or private, but my biggest complaint about most if not all videos, are not enough footage of the country being hunted, particularly from high vantage points. There does not have to be an animal in every frame, in my opinion.

Don't really see the advantage of paying $ 50.00 per year up front if per unit price is 13.00.

Love the prizes, but agree that it is better to offer more, smaller prizes. Give away 2-3 single species hunts, rather than one $ 15,000.00 hunt.

Went to the Portland Outdoor Show today, and bought 7 videos. I am a good potential customer, so git it done.

Sounds like a winner to me! I'd like to see mainly big game also, and public or private isn't a big issue. What I'd like to see is more of the hunt, not just the quick kill. Show the things that lead up to the hunt, some fun discussions around the campfire, planning, some of the practical jokes that we know go on with about every hunt. Make it a real hunt, not just kill after kill.
Just my 2 cents worth...
You can sign me up!!

Big game, no turkey or quail and very little whitetail. several small drawings and a couple of cheaper elk hunts

definitely more public land the better. It's nice to watch videos and know that could be you public land in the west. No eastern whitetail, turkeys, or prairie dogs.

Id be interested. Give aways are always nice, the more winners the better.

As for the video itself - no TURKEY hunts. If you gotta put em in there then fine. Id rather see you put out a quality big game video every 3 or 4 months than load up 2 or 3 with damn bird hunts. They are fun to hunt, boring to watch.

Love any footage of big bucks and bulls, but I would also like to see more of what goes into the hunt, rather than just of bunch of kill shots.

I have 138 video's/DVD's on hunting ... I guess a few more wouldn't hurt!!!

And I am getting the new Primos 10 Elk and Mossback BGW-3 for V-day....

Need a movie critic... I've seen so dang many hunting flicks!!

Western Big Game is all I am interested in and of course sheep ...screw turkeys and predators... maybe a brief segment but not a whole movie...

Good idea for you guys...

Give me a pure public land high country mule deer hunt on video and I'll buy everyone you got. Frankly, most guys want to just see trophy animals with some good kill shots. It seems like most videographers don't mention wether it's private or public.

Public land has more appeal in my opinion.
The " That could be me" factor sells better than anything unless you happen to be rich and can book a hunt where they were filmed.
Depends what area you are trying to sell videos the most in as far as species go..I will not even buy a video that has Whitetail and Muledeer hunting combined in it. Muledeer and Elk yes however.
Hunt giveaway would not interest me if it's a guided private land hunt. Just my pref.
My opinion.
Good luck

Justin,

I don't think it matters if you film public or private as long as we don't see high fences and feeders in the shot. I personally would only be interested in watching big game hunts. Turkey and prairie dogs just don't have the supense in them as big game hunts. If you offer a chance at a free hunt you will count me as a subscriber! Any way.....Here is to wishing you success!
