I was looking at a map of a unit in New Mexico and it splits the unit up as follows:
Bureau of Land Management
Bureau of Reclamation
Forest Service
Fish and Wildlife Service
Private
State

I'd call the dept, but it's Sunday and I'm trying to narrow down a few units.

Which of these are truley public land that I can hunt on once / if I obtain a license through the draw?
Thanks

You cant take that to the bank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There must first be access, if there is NOT public access, you CAN'T cross private, without permission, to get there.

I WOULD CHECK LOCAL REGS and with the LOCAL people before you go planning a hunt in unfamilier territory!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are lots of places that have special tags but the deer mostly are on private, or public lands that are "land-locked" from public access. . .
