I was just wondering how many people that have 8 points or more plan on putting in for the archery wasatch le for 2012

I'll probably buy another point and put in for San Juan but I might try to burn em on the Wasatch again...depends how I feel in March I guess...

If you put in for the wasatch, let me know. I can show you a couple places to find a bull

I'll tell you who it was . . . it was that D@MN Sasquatch!

If everything is the same as last year, 8 pts. should get you your permit, but be prepared to share it with lots of other folks. My son had a Wasatch Archery tag this year and we scouted/hunted hard, finally connecting on a 310 bull. Lots of cow/spike hunters to deal with and trail cameras everywhere. Good luck.

Me and a buddy hunted the wasatch this past year. We cashed in 7 and 8 points for the tag. We hardly ran into another hunter. And I believe we seen maybe one or two other cameras. We seen a ton of elk and had more oppurtunities than I can count. You can find places away from other hunters

I only have 7 points this year but last year i would have drawn 100% this year my odds are 20% less but im still hopeing to draw But if i do draw i plan on takeing off most the hunt so i guess im wondering do i take off the first few weeks or the last few weeks of the hunt any thoughts?

That is a given you take off the last weeks in hopes they start ruttin before ur hunt is over. The last week of the hunt is when it starts to boil up. It was vout the last 3 days or so for me last year. Little discouraging havin the hunt end knowning the rifle hunters were headin in to the best part of it

If you want to call in a bull Sniper is right. You won't hear much until the last two weeks of the hunt. On the other hand, if you are making a stand on a water hole, hot days bring in bulls as well, so pick your poison.

They are more vocal towards the end of the archery season however I have called in more bulls in the early part of the hunt than after. The bigger bulls are more likely to hit your calls before they cow up. It's pretty hard to get a big bull away from his cows once he's settled in. The post above that said water holes and wallows are better early on, is spot on. The Wasatch is a great place. It may not pack the biggest bulls in the state but as far as I'm concerned it is the place I would rather hunt over any other.

It's always an adventure!!!

I am trying to decide if I want to pull this bow tag this year myself. It would be nice to just draw it and be done in Utah until they pull their heads out of their asses.

Whatta ya think???

2010 TOTALS

Yes you can!
We saw a bunch of bull on the little hike we went on. It was fun until you pushed me down the mountain! LOL
