hello my fellow bow hunters. I have enough points for LE elk archery i hope but i was wondering if hunting the dutton is packed just like the wasatch is? what i mean is i love hunting the wasatch i know every canyon and water hole up there but when i find a good honey hole that knowbody has found so i thought! ill set my camera out and when i go to check it and somebody has coverd my camera with bark and i find another camera five yards away so is the dutton that bad also?

I hate to start anything but there has been a lot more "funny business" that has gone on-on Dutton that would make your covered camera deal seem mild...especially if there happened to be any super bulls involved. You can use your imagination to figure out what I'm talking about! Just like any LE unit in Utah be prepared for troops of spotters and helpers. It may not be quite as crowded early in the archery season as late in the archery season when the troops of rifle hunters and their buddies start showing up to scout.

I hunted the Dutton on the Archery hunt in 2008. I was amazed by all the trail cameras. Everytime I hiked into a nasty canyon and "found" a honey hole I aslo found four to five trail cameras. I loved the hunt but not what I thought it was going to be. I had the points to draw it as a NR rifle but wanted to archery hunt. Long story short, I changed how I put in for LE hunts after that year. I would go for the unit you know best and have fun.

If you know the Wasatch so well, you gotta go with it. I'd assume you live closer to it as well. If you haven't been on the Dutton, you need to go down before you put in. Its can get perty nasty.

Traditional >>>------->

Both places u can find places without pressure. I know the dutton and it can get very nasty where people just dont want to go. Lots less trails and roads on the dutton. But I dound places on wasatch where nobody else seemed to like to venture either. Let me know what u decide I would be willing to help out on either as much as I can

I don't know much about the Dutton but I know a little bit about the Wasatch and IMO it's a lot more bowhunter friendly than that "rock pile". Easy choice for me.

It's always an adventure!!!

better success rates for wasatch plus you know it well. wasatch is an easy choice the Dut is tough on archery.

I LOVE the Dutton. But if you don't know it very very well it is a very very tough bow hunt. I have known some great hunters that have been brought to their knees by the Dutton when it comes to the bow hunt.

Hunt the one that you know best, Because it will come down to finding the elk before you can kill them.

Don't know the wasatch but the dutton is tough on any elk hunt especially if its a warm year I wouldnt want to hunt it with a bow
