I heard from the horses mouth that the bull came from the Book Cliffs and scored 394.

Every time they play that little clip of him advertising the outdoors show, a little piece of me dies :( Just knowing I'll never kill a bull that awesome makes me sad.....

I get sad, but part of that eternal optimist gets excited knowing that bulls like that are still around.

Horse mouth LOL
It just might be the south end instead of the north end.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-10-12 AT 08:16AM (MST)[p]I talked to Adam Eakle at a softball tournament face to face. I just wanted to know if the bull was from Utah and he said the bull was from the Book Cliffs. From what I remember, this bull was killed before browtines brother took the photos of an apparent twin to this bull. The bulls must be brothers from another mother.

I'm not trying to tell someone they are wrong, I'm just giving you the information I got from the man who hosts the KSL Outdoors show. I figured he know what he was talking about.

Browtine and FSTOP (Adam) are good friends. Pretty sure Browtine knows what he is talking about. Wouldn't be surprised if that video came from Browtine/his brother for the show.

If that's the case then Adam lied right to my face, and for what reason? All I wanted to know is if the bull was from Utah, that's it. He said a buddy had filmed the bull; which was apparently browtines brother.

Like I said earlier, I'm not trying to stir the pot, I was just reporting what I had heard from a credible witness; or so I thought.

BTW, nice photos browtine.

I can't imagine a hunter not telling the truth about where a giant animal lives. LOL

Honestly, you shouldn't ask where someone hunts or where they kill stuff or where a giant bull lives. And if they tell you, don't be surprised if they lie. Some people don't feel comfortable saying, "none of your business", so they lie. Others just say, I'd rather not say. Often times, unfortunately, a lie is easier than saying none of your business cause then the person asking the question they shouldn't ask, isn't offended on the spot.

I don't know any details about this, just sayin.........

Sorry Rutnelk,
That's the story I got. I'll make a call and find out where exactly we got the video. Sure looks like the same bull to me that Brandon's brother took photos of?....

BTW - is there really inaccurate information that floats around the hunting world?

Sorry, I just can't help to chuckle about this. The hunting world is full of BS, stories, exaggerations, lies, and assumptions......especially second hand info.

Hey founder, all I asked was if the bull was from Utah, no specifics. Were you there? Did I ask what drainage it was in or what unit? NO, I didn't, Adam offered that information himself.

My exact words were " All I want to know is if that bull is a Utah bull". I understand why someone wouldn't want to discuss the exact location of a bull like that, so I didn't, and never do, ask.

No problem fstop. You just passed on information that you were given just like I did.

I guess it falls back on founders post. I'm sure Adam asked and thats what he was told. I never sent any video to Adam, he's a stand up guy and i'm sure he just told you what someone else had told him. Its really no big deal.. stud of a bull... Just not from Utah.

I don't know Adam personally but I agree, he seems like a great guy and I enjoyed talking with him.

Browtine that is the bull of my dreams, thank you for posting some more pictures.

Founder.................................oh never mind.

Ok here's what I learned. We purchased the video from a website that sells stock video. My friend who I trust, told me that his buddy told him he took the video of the bull. That the bull was dead and came off the Books. After telling him, through my friend, to look at this thread and Brandon's brothers pictures, he came clean....Well kind of.
The bad news...It's not video from Utah. The good news, the bull is still alive and roaming the hills, just not in Utah. I told him I wouldn't say where. I suspect that was his entent from the beginning? So there you go...Sorry about the confusion.
Hell, I won't even believe Founder anymore...Of course I know he's always lying to me anyways...LOL

What do you guys say on the DWR surveys where it asks if you were successful? Then asks what drainage you killed your animal? That seems like info that I think a lot of people would like to keep to themselves. I'm sure they don't publish the results, but somebody gets to see the data.

All I know is that that photo is going to be my new desktop pic! Awesome camera work Troy. Great big bull. He might as well live in Antartica.

HOOK 'EM!

To get an honest answer I had to go outside the allways completely honest hunting groups. Charages photography has several pics of what appears to be this same bull (and there's not many elk this size) in his 2010 fall yellowstone file. Professional photographers are pretty anal about keeping pics great records about local, f-stop, what lens was used etc...
Sucks cuz I was ready to put in for the book cliffs! Now what do I do?
