just wondering who you guys would recommend to guide early season rifle or bow hunts on the Wasatch or Fishlake units, I would like to talk to who you think is the best and most honest. I am considering burning my 15 nonresident points this year, also the San Juan for archery, thanks alot

I hope you are not considering 'burning' your elk points because all the big elk are gone and its going to get worse talk you here so frequently these days.

If you are burning them 'cause you are too old to hump the hills anymore that is one thing. If you are burning them 'cause you just got to hunt UT this year that's another but don't burn them simply because someone has said something about quality dropping.

I hunted with Blanding Boy (Todd Black) in '05 when I drew, and have been lucky enough to tag along with him on 2 hunts since then when friends and family have drawn. These have been some of the funnest hunts I have ever been on. They know that area, the animals and their habits, better than anyone I have ever met. We all met them as our guide, but left as friends. Be sure to take him up on his offer to talk, I know he won't steer you in the wrong direction. Sliverslinger400

This bull a cousin of mine killed i had filmed the bull earlier before the bull moved and i lost him 380+

LAST EDITED ON Jan-23-12 AT 09:46PM (MST)[p]I ( non res ) drew a Late Fishlake tag and hunted with High Top Outfitters. Could not ask for a better bunch of guys. Top notch. I only had 5 points when I drew.So 15 points might be a harded decision on what unit to hunt. Good luck on whatever you decide.

By looking at the bull and area you killed that i believe in 2009 on the late hunt i think i had video of this bull (is he a 5x6) and the group he was with i was guiding for tripple h at the time and both my hunters killed bulls close to there and we missed a chance at 370/380 bull in there if i had to guess your guides name was david b.

I am the best elk hunter in the western united states of america but I do not guide. I like helping people kill bigger elk then they could kill on their own. PM me if you want.
