Hey Guys,

It was great to see many of you this past weekend at the ISE Show in Phoenix. Thanks for stopping by the booth!

Since this story got so much attention when it started almost a year and a half ago, I thought I should show everyone how it ended. I got the mount back on Sunday night and it is a true masterpiece. My friend, Colton Bagnoli of Bagnoli Wildlife Taxidermy did a phenomenal job on the mount. It is truly good for my soul to stare at it! Thanks to Tina & Tim at Triple T Taxidermy for the cape!

Most of all, thanks to everyone that helped in this saga. My cousin Gary, Anthony, Jeff, those who supported me at the ISE Auction last year, and Charlie Rust- who found the bull. Thank you again for the closure you made possible for me! This all ended happily thanks to all of you!

That was a long ride but it looks great where it belongs on your wall.

I got Extreme Bulls 7 for my B-Day and man I am loving watching it!

Congrats Steve - that is a great looking bull. What a story from beginning to end.

So - if you had it to do all over again from the moment you hit the bull in the shoulderblade on, what would you do different? Curious to see what lessons hindsight can teach us.

I followed this thread last year and now after reading it again, it is pleasant to see that this truly was an effort to help you out and not criticize or ridicule. This is how MM should work.

HOOK 'EM!

Wow! I read through the original post in the AZ forum. All I can say is wow! You are a true sportsman. Enjoy your bull! No doubt you've earned him... a couple of times! Congrats on a happy ending!

Steve : I'm glad everything worked out for you . Your bull looks great . With everything you went through to finally put him on the wall that really is an Extreme bull. Take care Jeff

Thanks everyone!

Roy, I'm sorry that I missed your question in your post. First, I wish that I could have the shot back and move it 2"-3" inches right! But since I can't change that, I'll live with it.

As far as after the bull was hit on the 13th evening; as you know, we tracked the entire 14th day and could not get another arrow in the bull. At the time, I did not know anything about the Game & Fish Directive regarding wounding loss animals or that my bull would eventually be found by Charlie. Hindsight, knowing what I know now, I would contact Game & Fish after my hunt ending on the 14th evening and tell them in detail about what happened in case my bull got discovered. That way the facts would already be on record.

With the way it was described at my commission hearing I don't think I would have gotten the rack back even if I had done that due to the directive that is followed. Once my season ended my tag was no longer valid to tag and posses that bull or the rack.

I believe that Game & Fish would be reasonable if you shot a bull on the 14th evening of the archery hunt, contacted them that evening, and had to recover it the following day with an officer present. Mine certainly was not a "next day" recovery.

I hope that none of you have to go through this situation in the future, but if you do, I hope there is a Charlie Rust out there to help give you closure:)
