area 21 info

should draw 2nd hunt.have never hunted this unit before.have contacted the biost for the area,and read the many post here on mm.i see there is a lot of open area no roads between baxter pass and texas mts.any info would be of great help. res hunter,would gladly give out info for deer in nv,utah,wy,thanks,eklhunter7

There are lots of roads everywhere in GMU 21 now. The cartographers can't keep up with the development so don't trust the maps too much. You can drive from Baxter Pass to Rangely, or into Utah on Ratt Hole Ridge, or over to Texas and Oil Springs Mountains or Hwy 139 from Missouri Creek and numerous other places on Rio Blanco County roads.

There are places you can get a couple of miles from a road still, but this is not a wilderness type hunt. Also there is a fair bit of private land between Baxter and Texas Mountain if you are above 7500 feet.
