Shed hunting question

There have been some incredible sheds shown here. When we find sheds, they are almost always singles that have been bleached already. My question is do most bucks drop their sheds at the same time? There seem to be allot of matched sheds found and I was just curious how this is? And how can you tell if it is a match or not? Bare with me I have not been "shed hunting" so excuse my ignorance please.

It has been my experience that the bigger the sheds the better chance you have of finding the other side near by. My biggest set of Deer and Elk sheds were found within 30 yards of the other side. I have heard people say that this is due to the animal's head having more weight on the side of the head that has the horn. I'm sure it's an incentive for the animal to shed the other side as soon as possible (especially big bulls).

Sometimes it pretty tough to tell if you actually have both side from the same animal, but if they are from the same animal, they will most likely have a very simliar shape, texture and color. Try looking at the pedicles, they should be nearly mirror images of each other.

Thank you for you responses, obviously I need to get more often and find more, LOL
