Wanting some opinions on archery elk in Unit 76 vs muzzleloader elk in 49. My impression is that 76 has a lot of bulls, but mostly 280-320 range ---- have not been able to find much on 49 potential. I have horses and atv's, so am able to road camp or pack in. Appreciate any info.

Looking ahead to 2013? Horses would be very helpful in both units. I would talk to the area biologists for their input.

yes - have enough points to draw either of them for those specific weapon choices --- looking at 2013. When I spoke to the biologist in unit 49, he recommended 76, but would like to see what others think.

Contrary to many posts on this and other sites I have never seen or laid eyes on a bull that scored over 320 in unit 49. The biggest bull I have ever seen on the winter range over the last 10 years was maybe 320. Not saying their not around but the talk of 400 inch bulls in the area is bs. Between poachers, winters and the amount of tags they give out it just ain't happening. Couldn't tell you about 76. Best of luck.
