Does anybody know anything about units 77 &78 for mule deer, Iwas told they have good numbers but not great for trophys, and some real rugged high country.

I hunted there in 2005 during the 3rd season. We hunted around the Southern Ute lands ($25 a head for each parcel of their land you want to cross). We saw lots of deer but nothing bigger than a 170 buck. It was a fun place to hunt with lots of interesting terrain. The best part of the hunt was the little meat shop at a camp ground near Pagosa Springs - the deer came home frozen in a cooler.

i see quite a few deer around the reservation as well there are some real nice ones by my standards just ask for permision to hunt the private lands and it shouldntbe to hard tp get a nice trophy
