My card has not been hit yet, but it just as well have been. I will be hunting LE this year. With 16 points it has to happen.
Now I wish I had done something other than wait 16 years to kill an elk. Maybe I should have learned how to hunt.
But waiting that long I am guaranteed a 400 incher right?

I'll tell you who it was . . . it was that D@MN Sasquatch!

I'm with you. 18 points and waiting. Never should have to wait that long, but it has made me think of better stratagies combining several different states for the future, with yearly hunt of deer or elk.

Your 16 points should make for a great and fun hunt for you. Keep us posted.

Kawboy don't worry there is monster bulls behind every rock and bush in the bookcliffs.

Is it going to piss you off if I draw an elk tag with 2 points and you don't?

It will only piss me off if you don't invite me.

Wait a second, I thought the "400 inch" guarantee was for Arizona ?
Are telling me I will have to settle for a pizzcutter ?

Any LE unit, in any state comes with an effort free 400 guaranteed

I should draw with "0" points. If I'm lucky enough to draw without any points then that luck should carry over to a 400" bull right?!

Good luck brothers! You guys deserve it!

It's always an adventure!!!

Now I'm thinking I blew by not putting in with 5 points. LOL

I've been applying for bighorn sheep in NM since I was 9. I'm 34 now and still haven't drawn that tag. thats 25 years of unsucessful. at a 1/1000 chance of drawing I only have 75 more years left to go and I will have my sheep tag. however I figure I will learn to hunt sheep when I draw the tag. I like the way you think.

Shot this bull in the Book cliffs [scale; I'm 6'3" 225]. Guy driving a garbage truck in Green river waved me over and claimed this was the biggest bull in the unit and he was dying to get the story of my archery hunt. I hunted 16 days straight and he was the biggest bull I saw. Old bull [9 years] huge body and he could have been going downhill antler wise- never did get an exact score on him- why bother, I was happy with him.

I know you are just messing around with the 400 thing but that BC country is as nice as any Natl park- gods country, loved every day in there.

You would of had a better chance with me at a 400 if you would of put in for the SJ. Hopefully we will get a ML tag this year with one less point than max. We should know soon my friend.

That looks really familiar! You guys did a great job helping out on my brothers elk hunt last fall (The Judd's). We had a blast! Once I draw we will be back!

West elk, I sent you a pm. I would be interested in seeing a pic of your bull and hearing the story. Shoot me an email if your willing.

Bggmhntr. If things don't work out this year I might just take you up on your offer. I think it would be fun to learn a new place.

My bull from the roadless quite a few years back. Supper fun hunt and I'll have to wait a few more years to do it again.

My brother drew an WHCE tag this year for deer. So, I already know we'll be spending time out in the book cliffs this summer and fall.

Very cool bull, I love the mass on the buck too. Thanks for sharing.

I checked my card 3 times today. No luck yet.

kawboy,
A 400" bull is certainly an attainable goal, especially if you have me measure it. I'm creative! LOL
You'll draw for sure since you have so much going on this year. That's the way things happen.
Best to ya, Zeke

There are a few bulls that will go over 400 in the roadless if you know where to look.

I would love to take you and your family down there. Good luck in the draw my friend

Westelkman, I replied to your email.
That bull is beautiful

Just found out a good friend drew the books premium tag with 11 points, now no matter what happens it will be a good year.

No this is a client of Flying J Outfitters.

Did I mention he shot the bull with this Recurve bow?

20 yard shot!

I think that would be a true challenge.
