Boulder bulls

I got lucky and drew a LE archery tag for the boulder unit. I've never been there before, just wondering what kind of bulls to expect?

I've heard a guy can kill 280 class bulls there

Yes catman, but if you see a 290 bull you better fling an arrow.

A lot of areas on the boulders are NASTY thick with pines. Good luck to you. Better put some time in scouting the area for old rutting grounds. There is water all over the place so it's tough to hunt over water.

I have to ask a dumb question.....
If you have never been on the unit and don't even know what type of bull to expect, why did you apply for the Boulder Unit?
(not implying anything negative, just curious ;-))

This unit is the 2nd best unit in Utah for potential trophy bulls, just few and far between. Better hire a guide or shoot first 6x6 you see. If you want more info email me [email protected]

I actually hunted the North Cache archery last year, (I bought an auction tag that was never paid for) and it sucked, to say the least. I had enough points to draw several other units, but had heard good things about the Boulder and actually had a buddy hunt it a couple years ago. So I'm not totally blind going into this deal. Just hoping to get some other feedback on it. My original plan was to sit water for as long as it takes.

So there ya go Slammy. You guide me to a huge bull and I'll never make a Stinky-Slammy-baby oil rub down session comment, at least till next year!
