If this storm dumps a foot or more as predicted, what's the likelyhood of a significant muledeer die-off? I know it's speculation, but i'm interested in what you guys that really know that country think about foot of snow in spring and how it will affect the muledeer. . .

It will make more and more feed. It will fill the ponds. No die off from this type of storm.

This type of storm will only help....

I was born and raised in So. CO. Talked with my sister this morning and they had 9" at about 10:00 a.m. and still coming down. This time of year the snow doesn't stick around long at all, so I don't think it'll affect much other then help green it up sooner. My thoughts are that the Dec/Jan storms were more significant in terms of damage being done.

Just my .02

I don't live there, but talked to a friend in Cortez last week and it was 68. And it will probably be that warm again next week. As stated, the cold/snow shouldn't stay around long enough to do any widespread damage.

My goodness! This could be the year that something really special comes out of S. CO or N. NM. If we get our usual spring and summer rains and monsoons...look out Burris Buck. Too bad some of this didn't end up in the Bab or Strip.
