LAST EDITED ON Jun-11-12 AT 11:46PM (MST)[p]>Its all private!

Nope! Webster Flat, Deep Creek, Midway, Deer Valley, Navajo Lake Loop, Duck Creek Ridge, Willis Creek, Broad Hollow, Strawberry Valley, Strawberry Ridge SW end, Swains Creek SW end, on top are public among others. And down off the cliffs there are many pockets of BLM and State lands (Hogs Haven, Cogswell Point). It isn't overrun with elk, but they are there! You just have to do your homework.

I shot this bull on cedar mtn in 2009 on public land. Opening Morning first thing. I got Lucky.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-12-12 AT 10:43AM (MST)[p]Its a nice big bull, but whats more lucky is that you shot it somewhere you could drive right up to it! I never see a "whole" elk brought out where I hunt

Most of the time I hunt way off of the road as well, but I was just starting to walk into an area and He was right there with some cows. I shot it 300 yards off of a main road and right next to a 4 wheeler trail. It took 4 guys to lift it onto my wheeler. I don't know how my 4 wheeler made it with that load. I cut it in half just past the hind quarters. All four of us where on the back of the wheeler with the elk on the front to balance. I will never do that again.

any place with good bulls like that is worth the time. LOL
Nice try.
