Here's a pic from Sonora, MX
202 gross, 33.5 inches wide

Great buck; what a stud. And I really like the shot placement, too. All around good job. And welcome to MM.

I feel that Sonora offers the best chance at putting a typical in the book nowadays. What's your take? Did you get a chance to net him out yet? I'm also hearing that driving into Mexico (like we did last December) is not really the way to go now. Did you fly? If so, how "easy" was it? Is the Mexican military check in the airport? Thanks, and once again great buck.

Almost all the deer we saw were nice typicals (Mostly 170 class).
They told us the rut was a little early this year and most the big boys weren't showing themselves. I actually spotted mine about 800 yds away and was able to get the deal done. With that said, I do firmly agree w/ you that Sonora is the spot for typical muley's. I flew into Hermosillo and yes the military check is right there to greet you when you land. He netted 183 and some change. The cost was $7K

Thanks Saint. I hunted about 90 miles NW of Hermosillo. We crossed at Nogales, AZ, went through customs, drove into the next town in MX (can't remember name) and went through Military check. Then drove on down to Hermosillo, fueled up, and made it to ranch. Started in Nogalez around noon, made it to camp around 7 pm. A real grind but worth it for sure. Can't wait to go back! Sounds like flying is the way to go. I understand you have to have a passport this year.
