Is there anyone out there that runs a scouting service for the Cliffs? Or any outfitter that provides a semi-guided option? We don't really need the accomodations and the hand holding, and we want to hunt on our own for the most part, but we could definitely use some inside scoop to help us find a better than average buck. Anyone out there offer such an option?

I hunted there last year (muzzleloader) and spend a lot of the summer out there as well. Let me know if you need anything and I will try to get you some information.

I am not an outfitter or guide, but someone who just likes finding big deer and spending time on the Books.

I 2nd Shawn Labrum. He takes the biggest bucks off the cliffs just about every year. He also has a scouting service that i know a few guys have taken advantage of and did really well. Money well spent if u ask me, if u are looking for 180 class buck or better. If u just want a 160 to 170 class buck do it on your own because u will see one every day maybe even more than one a day.

I 3rd Shawn. He helped us out last year and put us in the right place,...We like to hunt on our own, but didn't have the time to scout so we hired Shawn to give us some pointers. Very genuine guy, very knowledgeable, and he is passionate about deer hunting.

Dad drew the rifle tag last year, and I drew a muzzleloader tag this year. I'm stoked. Any pointers on how the hunt differs in the earlier months?

Good to hear the reviews on Shawn. I have already enlisted him to help me with my Books muzzleloader deer tag this year.

Can't wait!
