2008 Mule Deer Hunt / Colorado

Planning for next year, headed for Wyoming this year on a lope/mulie hunt. Looking to SW Colorado, have some ideas and targeted areas. Will have two pref points for my son and I. Any info or suggestions would be appreciated.

my son has been drawing the youth hunt in 771 for the last three years as a second choice. the last hunt takes a point to get drawn but the third doesnt. if you put in for a first choice that takes several points to draw, and a second choice of the third hunt he will draw and keep his points. im not sure how the non youth hunt is working with points.
by the time the fourth hunt starts the deer are all down low on the private ground and the reservation. you can see tons of great bucks but you cant hunt them. thats why I like the third hunt better.
