AZ gnats

If you archery deer hunt in the AZ desert during the blazing summer I'm hoping you know what I'm talking about. GNATS or what have you, the pesky little buggers that buzz around your face and ears non-stop!! I can sit from sun up till sun down glassn but those things can really drive a person insane. I've tried numerous things, ie head nets (you can barely glass through) and non-odor repellants if there is such a thing. Does anybody have any recommendations? Thanks

Can't think of the name right now but they are the small sheets of cloth, forget it I just remembered.
Get CLING FREE LAUNDRY SHEETS, steal them from your wifes laundry products and just tie one through a button hole on shirt or lapel.

and your hunting buddys will love that heavenly fresh scent!
ya like that will work...ha ha! but you could always use for back up TP!
and doublers work great too!

No bath for a day or two. Cut a hole in the ass of your pants. The gnats will get out of your face.

Lots of gnats in the spring here, the only thing I have found to keep the bastages at bay is "Skin-So-Soft" by Avon. Sounds femine, but it doesn't smell to bad and most importantly, it WORKS.

A few years ago the nats were real bad, the thing that worked the best for them was vanilla. Just the stuff you buy in the grocery store rubbed on, they would still be close to you but helped keep them away and stopped them from bitting. It worked better then DEET for nats.

I heard about Bug Band on Jim Solomon's radio show a while back. It sounds like a winner, and it's DEET free.

Introducing the next generation of protection. BugBand? products are a proven, effective alternative to synthetic traditional pesticides, protecting children and adults from biting insects while avoiding the risks associated with irritating chemicals. BugBand is not only a safer choice, it's more effective. Geraniol, the plant-based active ingredient in BugBand, is a proven repellent.

cut a hole in the seat of your pants. It won't get rid of them but will keep them out of your face.............

It's called "No More Stinkin Bugs". You can find it at the Sportsmans wherehouse. Get it in the "natural earth" smell and it works AWESOME and also works as a great cover scent.
Your wife may make you take your clothes off in the garage when you get home like mine does because you will smell just like wet dirt.
I gotta say though.....had em all around me here in AZ and they didn't even get close enough to "bug" me! :)

I got picked apart this weekend from the no see ums and so did another buddy of mine. i look like i have the chicken pox. I don't know about anything other than deet that works but I will try that stuff from sportsmans. 49 bites and they are all swollen if you have been bit by those buggers before it sucks bad.

careful with deet.

My boy sprayed some on the vinyl siding on our house and it turned the vinyl black. Won't clean off either, it burned into the meat of it.

I won't put that stuff on skin anymore......

Thanks for the good laughs and great info! I'll be checking out the bugband and stopping by Sportsmans. Can't wait to bust out the avon Skin-so-soft in front of my buddy, not to metion the cling free sheet and vanilla. Oh yea, no need for me to worry about my wife.....Not married, Haven't finished buying all my toys yet! Thanks again
