Hello all,

Any help in these units would be greatly appreciated. My Dad and I have drawn archery tags, however as you may know this area is slim on swa's. Has anyone hunted the Duck Creek swa or Carr tract state trust? Additionally any info on hunting the Pawnee national grasslands would be helpful. I will order my BLM maps first thing Monday.

Any outfitters or trespass areas in these units?

Start knocking on doors. There is a few nice landowners that may let you on for free or for a small fee. I drew 87 late rifle several years ago and had a great hunt. I also have friends that have archery hunted and done well. Dont waste your time on Carr stl unless you have a antelope tag, same with the Pawnee. There is very few if any deer in those 2 areas that I wouldnt waste my time. If you were to see one it is probably passing through. You need to concentrate on areas with CRP, brushy creek bottoms and having some ag land close by will be a bonus. You will probably see some whitetail out there too so dont be suprised.
The Lazy D grazing association has a tresspass fee that is a bit steep and is questionable if it is worth it because i guided some rifle hunters there and saw no shooters. Word is a few years ago several mature deer were poached close to or on the lazy d. Maybe the small bucks we saw a few years ago have made it, who knows. .. It is in unit 87 and I think chuck roberts is the contact there.
Hope it helps, here is my email..

Thanks Jeff I was also going to look at the Duck Creek swa, but I will have my Dad start knocking on doors. Thanks for the info on the other.

Jeff,

disregard the email, I figured it out after I read it again. Do you have any experience with Jackson res swa or duck creek swa. I was also looking at the pawnee national grassland.
